5 Things Americans Want in Their Homes

The Demand Institute, a non-profit organization run by the Conference Board and Nielsen, surveyed ten thousand households about their current homes and then their ideal ones. Energy Efficiency
The increase in the cost of energy has become increasingly burdensome on households. Seventy-one percent of respondents said they thought a home’s energy efficiency was important. Energy-efficient appliances, high-efficiency insulation, and high window efficiency are a few “green” features that Americans value the most. More Space
Americans need a sufficient amount of space for the many things they want in their dream homes. Fifty-five percent of survey respondents said they think a home with a lot of storage space is important. Affordability
Without requiring sacrifices, eighty-one percent of those surveyed said that it is important that a home’s cost fits in their budget. We want our buyers to enjoy the most out of what they purchase. Sixty-two percent of participants said an updated kitchen with modern appliances and fixtures is important.
